Psychoeducational Assessment

This kind of assessment is recommended when children are struggling at school academically and/or behaviourally. The goal of the assessment is to investigate the child's learning profile to identify strengths and weaknesses. The most frequent concerns are ADHD, learning disability, and language disorder. This type of assessment is generally for children 6-16 years of age and requires roughly 16 clinical hours (2 hours with parent(s), 6 hours with the child, 6 hours of scoring and report writing, 2 hours of feedback). The cost is roughly $3840.

This assessment can be combined with a Social-Emotional Assessment if needed.

Psychoeducational Assessment for Francophone or French-Immersion Students

This is a psychoeducational assessment (see description above) that is tailored to bilingual children who are fluent in English, but attend French or French immersion schools. The assessment is predominantly completed in English, with additional French academic testing. Interviews with parents and teachers can be completed in French or English.

This assessment requires roughly 16-18 clinical hours (2 hours with parent(s), 6-7 hours with the child, 6-7 hours of scoring and report writing, 2 hours of feedback). The cost is roughly $3840-4320.

Brief ADHD Assessment

This type of assessment is only appropriate when children are succeeding academically, but struggling with hyperactivity or focus. If there are academic concerns, a full psychoeducational assessment is highly recommended.

An ADHD assessment can be done with children 6-16 years of age. The assessment process consists of in-depth parent and teacher interviews and questionnaires, as well as a session with the child (cognitive measure and direct attention testing). Depending on the wants and needs of the client, a written report of varying length and detail can be provided. These assessments can vary greatly in length from 5-10 hours (billed at $240/hour).

Social-Emotional Assessment

This type of assessment is generally for children 6-16 years of age, who are struggling at home and/or school behaviourally and/or emotionally. The assessment process consists of in-depth parent and teacher interviews and questionnaires, as well as session(s) with the child (talking, drawing, or playing based on age). Depending on the wants and needs of the client, a written report of varying length and detail can be provided. These assessments can vary greatly in length.

Brief Gifted Assessment

The goal of this assessment is to investigate the child's cognitive profile to identify strengths and weaknesses and to determine if they are in need of enrichment programming at school.

This type of assessment can be tailored for children aged 3-16 years of age and requires roughly 3.5 clinical hours with extensions to explore particular strengths or weaknesses as needed.

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V; children 6-15yrs) or Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence - Fourth Edition (WPPSI-IV; children 3-5yrs) will be used.
