Julie Wallis, PhD

I am a registered child and family psychologist in Ontario. I work directly with children, parents, and families to help them live healthier and happier lives. I specialize in early childhood concerns (e.g., tantrums, separations, and difficult behaviour), parenting difficulties, and parent-child attachment, as well as psychoeducational and social-emotional assessment. I have a particular passion for attachment and family-based interventions; however, I also draw from emotion-focused, behavioural, and solution-focused theories in my work.

About Me: About Me

My Training

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University in 2016 and am registered as a clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I have been working with children and their families in Toronto in private practice settings for 6 years.

During my training, I completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre in Toronto (now known as SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health). There, I was a member of the Infancy and Preschool Assessment and Treatment Team and received specialized training in assessment and intervention with young families. I've also completed clinical placements at the Hospital for Sick Children, Surrey Place Centre, and Blueballoon Health Services. My training and experience center on complex psychological assessment of children, integrative psychotherapy, parent counseling/coaching, and family therapy.
